Job Description:

Drives transportation vehicles to transport clients and do administrative and nursing home errands. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as needed.

 

Must be available to be on-call for weekends and holidays.

 

Must be available to be on-call on weeknights from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.

 

Complete required PASS training.

 

Complete 6 hours of In-service training annually.

 

Inspect vehicle daily before and after driving.

 

Drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to hospital, meal sites, social services or rehabilitation center, or other destination according to assigned schedule while maintaining contact with dispatcher. Includes out of town driving as well.

 

Assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle, may include helping clients out of their homes.

 

Assist with seat belts.

 

Secure oxygen tanks in vehicles and on wheelchairs.

 

Secure passengers wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.

 

Operate wheelchair lifts; both automatic and manual.

 

Operate radio/cell phone or similar device to communicate with main office.

 

Keep records of trips including passenger's names, destinations, and ages.

 

Fueling of vehicles as needed.

 

Observe resident rights to dignity and respect.

 

Keep vehicles clean inside and out including vacuuming, dusting and mopping daily.

 

Does administrative, nursing home, or assisted living errands as needed.

 

Have a working knowledge of the transportation Policies and Procedures, the Drivers Manual, the SSEPP plan notebook and VVCC’s Personnel Policies and Procedures.

The individual must be at least 25 years of age to operate Valley Vista vehicles.

Hold a current Idaho driver’s license and a clean driving record.  Must pass a road test.  Pass the FBI Criminal History Background check.
