SUMMARY

Functions within the scope of practice as established by the Idaho State Board of Nursing Certification. Is responsible for assisting licensed personnel in the successful operation of the nursing floor by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following:

1. Answering and directing phone calls as needed.

2. Document and monitor employee attendance (absences and tardies).

3. Monitor staffing ratios and schedules accordingly, weekly staffing reports

4. Directs individuals with questions, complaints or comments to the appropriate personnel.

5. Replace call in staff on schedule.

6. Manage and update daily staffing sheet.

7. Prepare monthly Nursing Assistant, CNA schedules and post by the deadline (20th of each month)

8. Perform orientation with Agency staffing and complete their scheduling of shifts.

9. Send and receives necessary messages via e-mail to appropriate staff.

10. Assist nursing assistant staff with patient care as needed when available.

11. Keep the Director of Nursing and Administrator notified of current staffing needs

12. Assist and aide residents, nursing staff and visitors when needed.

13. Behavior class schedules / New hire on the floor orientation schedules

14. Track Kronos missed punches, green slips and pay period sign off.

15. Enter and track in-service/orientation logs for payroll

16. Tracks and processes Direct-Care reports for payroll

17. Weekly staffing reports

18. Update 3 week nursing schedule on weekly basis for survey readiness book

19. Maintain up to date and accurate monthly CNA schedule in survey book

20. Clerical duties such as faxing, copying, filing and completion of required job related reports

21. Answering and directing phone calls as needed

22. Schedules resident appointments and transportation

23. Prepares monthly transportation reports

24. Cross-trains and provides backup support to Receptionist as needed

25. Other shift assignments as needed.

LICENCES, CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Driver’s License is required. Current State of Idaho CNA certificate is required.
